Featuring organic, non-spherical shapes, our Baroque Pearls are cultured in fresh water and, like Keshi pearls, they are formed around tissue, instead of a nuclear bead. Pearls are considered symbols of purity, love, and union, and have been used in wedding ceremonies since the ancient Hindu god Krishna plucked the first pearl from the ocean and gave it to his daughter, Pandaia, on her wedding day.

Island Stone

The term Island Stones characterizes the diverse semi-precious stones Mary finds while strolling the sands of Block Island and the beaches she encounters on her travels. To date, these treasures include Agates, Basalt, Jasper, Quartz, and Feldspar stones.

SHOP

Jasper

As part of the Chalcedony family, which comprises stones composed of fine intergrowths of Quartz and Morganite, Jasper comes in many colors, patterns, and forms. Mary primarily uses Red Jasper, a rusty stone with black or white veins, and a variation she calls Picasso Jasper, as its coloring recalls its namesake’s Cubist palette. Mined in the Western United States — specifically Wyoming, Montana, and Utah — Jasper is traditionally used in Native American culture for rain making. It is also known as the “Supreme Nurturer,” as it is a grounding stone said to promote stability and awareness.

Kyanite

Showcasing mainly deep blue hues — its name comes from the Greek word kyanos, which means “deep blue” — Kyanite also appears in off-white, grey, and green shades. Found in Brazil, India, Kenya, and Zimbabwe, the stone is believed to promote communication, repair damaged relationships (both physical and spiritual), and facilitate dream interpretation.

Keshi Pearl

BIRTHSTONE
june
ASTROLOGICAL SIGN
gemini

The word “keshi” comes from the Japanese “keshinomi,” which means poppy seed — an apt descriptor of these small pearls formed by Akoya oysters. Mary uses seawater-cultivated Tahitian Keshi pearls, ranging in hue from dark charcoal to silver grey. Technically byproducts of pearl cultivation, Keshi pearls form around loose tissue in the mollusk, rather than a nuclear bead, which gives them a freeform shape.

SHOP

Labradorite

A mesmerizing stone with florescent luminescence, Labradorite belongs to the feldspar family of stones, which makes up about 60 percent of the Earth’s crust. Upon first glance, this enigmatic stone appears deep grey, but when the light illuminates its veins, it shines bright blue.

SHOP

Lapis

Ranging from shimmering deep blue to purple, Lapis is a metamorphic rock renowned for fostering self-expression and wisdom — so much so that it’s called the “wisdom stone.” It is also known to promote enlightenment and truth, and has been prized since ancient times for its beauty and power.

Commonly referred to as “rustic diamonds,” mineral diamonds are those that form with the presence of other mineral impurities (including iron, nitrogen, and boron) which is what produces the unique cloudy or colorful aspect of the stone. Perfect in structure, diamonds are referred to as the “king of gems,” for their extraordinary light reflection and dispersion, and as the hardest natural substance known. Its name is derived from the Greek adamas, meaning “indomitable,” “unbreakable,” or “untamable."
